Message	Since you've had yours checked, may as well try a known good cluster and speed sensor to rule those out. I had a similar issue in my 97 maxima, replaced the speed sensor, and it again was the cluster. In the Z it went from sporadically bouncing needle to eventually no movement and the power steering would be disabled at times. Would check out the connectors going to the cluster as well.
